I have the same problem with my skincare as I do my makeup; it all runs out at the same time meaning I am left to make a rather large purchase of all my necessities in one go – this is especially not helpful during January when I’ve forgotten what payday feels like.
But I love skincare and always ensure I get a good routine and stick to it; no matter how tired or hammered I am, I always remove my makeup before I go to bed and moisturise at the very least! No one needs to wake up to panda eyes…
When it comes to skincare I’m not too precious as I like to try new brands and products; I have a few firm favourites including the Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish (no surprise there!) and The Body Shop Peppermint Foot Cream, but with other stuff I am happy to play around.
I headed to Boots for a little haul of some necessities and went for stuff that I hadn’t tried before or was on offer #savethepennies!!
Dove Derma Spa Goodness Body Cream – I love Dove products and I am one of those people who uses body moisturiser every day. The Derma Spa range is really nice; as with most Dove products they smell great, feel very luxurious especially for the price, and do their job well – nourishing the skin and leaving it silky soft!
L’Oreal Pure Clay Purity Wash – This is a new product that was definitely coming home with me! I have used the L’Oreal Pure Clay Glow Mask before and am a fan! I wanted to try all three masks out but when I saw this one as a face wash version, (they have created all three masks into face washes) I opted for that as I use a face wash twice a day so knew I would be able to give it a thorough go! I love this; the consistency is great, not too thick, easily applied and easily washed off. It smells really fresh, very good for a morning use, the packaging is chic and simple, and it feels like my skin gets a good clean from using this. It contains 3 clays (Kaolin, Montmorillonite and Ghassoul) and eucalyptus and aims to cleanse, mattify and purify the skin. I would definitely repurchase this one as well as try the other two from the range.
Garnier Skin Active Matcha + Kaolin Mask – This mask aims to purify the skin and is aimed at combination to oily skin. I love using face masks and aim to do them twice a week, and with these they had quite a few to choose from in this range. I haven’t tried this one yet but I wanted to give it a shout out as they are only £1.50 and perfect individual masks to take away with you.
Garnier Skin Active Micellar Cleansing Gel Wash – I love using cleansers and have used Micellar water in the past but this is a first for me; a Micellar Cleansing Gel Wash. I like the packaging with this one as a pump is always easier to use but this wouldn’t be great for travel. I went for the Combination and Sensitive skin one which you can use over the face, eyes and lips; I only use cleansers that I can use on my eyes too so this really appealed to me. I have used this one a few times now; it is pretty standard, use a pumps worth and rub over your skin, massage in then I remove with a damp face cloth. The scent is quite strong for my liking and I found that it wasn’t as gentle on my eyes as other products I have used; they stung slightly afterwards but nothing so bad I wouldn’t use the product again. It removes make up well but again I have used other products that I would rate higher. This is a great one for on a budget and would work well not just for removing makeup but also just as a morning wash.
Let me know if you too have tried any of these or have any budget skincare recommendations of your own!
