Last year I picked up my first Tarte mascara from Sephora in NYC; I went for the Amazonian Clay Gifted Mascara after hearing so many rave reviews and man was I glad I did. It completely delivered and soon became one of my favourites. The brush is a great size for me, the product isn’t too wet, and it gives a gorgeous feathered look to lashes.
So when I was in New York and Boston last month (see my travels here and here!) I obviously ended up in Sephora and again wanted to try more from Tarte. I was tempted to go back to the Amazonian Clay mascara but thought I may as well try one of their new ones whilst I had the chance. I picked up the Lights, Camera, Lashes 4 in 1 Mascara (also available in waterproof). The packaging is completely different to anything I have seen before as it is like a soft tube! The brush again is a good size and I like the formula. It really lengthens my lashes and is a good one for both day and night.
My second Tarte purchase was the Maracuja Creaseless Concealer in fair. I love trying out concealers as I use them daily and so far it has been the Nars Radiant Creamy concealer that has been top of my list. With this one again I like the packaging as it is a tube; very small and lightweight so a good choice for travel. The shade range is pretty good and this one works well with my skin tone.
Now when I say this stuff is thick, I really mean thick. So much so I was trying to squeeze some out on my first use and I thought there was a seal stopping it; you really have to give it a bit of welly, but be careful as a little majorly goes a long way with this. You need such a tiny amount as it is so thick but this is good as the product will last you a decent length of time. Even though it is uber thick, I didn’t find it too annoying to blend in; I used a brush but I think fingers or a beauty blender would perhaps be a better fit.
I really like both products and when I stumble across another Sephora I will definitely be trying more Tarte products as I yet to be disappointed!
