Long Haul – The Products That Made The Cut

Long Haul – The Products That Made The Cut 1

On Friday I am heading off to New York and Boston; my first every solo trip. I have never flown or gone away by myself before, but for 2016 it was my main goal. So when I booked the flights back in January, April seemed a long way off, but I am very excited (and rather nervous I’ll admit) to be jetting off to experience something new. This will be my third trip to New York as my lovely best friend lives there so I will be with her celebrating my birthday (not bad I know!) and then heading off to Boston for the first time, all on my tod.

Now even though I have had about 3 months to plan and organise, I knew I would leave most things to the last minute, and guess what, that’s exactly what has happened thanks to a large amount of procrastinating and watching The Night Manager/swooning over Tom Hiddleston, and The OJ Trial…. Woops.

So as I leave in a couple of days, my anxiety levels are starting to rise but I am also attempting to sort out my packing. As it is a long haul flight I want to make sure I take a good amount but pack savvy so I can shop to my heart’s content and bring back lots of birthday presents for myself.

As it is a long flight (7 hours this time) I want to try and keep my skin looking as good as possible; who wants dry and blemish skin when celebrating their birthday!? My skin has been a bit all over the place in recent months; I have had more breakouts than I can remember so I have seriously upped my skincare game and I want to continue this as much as possible whilst on my travels.

When it comes to the flight I won’t be wearing any makeup, and as much as I feel sorry for the person sitting next to me who will have to see my very tired face, I am more concerned about keeping my skin looking as fresh as possible by the time I land. In the morning I will cleanse and then I will be using my Superdrug Vitamin E Moisture Boost Serum, Una Brennan Superfacialist Vitamin C+ Dark Circles Eye Cream, and the Origins Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask.

The products are ok in size to take on the flight with me, and with the Origins I will either apply beforehand or decant some into a little pot and use throughout my trip. This mask has had rave reviews and it is so easy to see why. It smells gorgeous, lasts a long time as a little goes a long way, you simple apply and there is no need to rinse off, and it really does give some serious hydration to my skin. When my skin needs a boost I always go for this as it is a product that works well with my skin and doesn’t take up lots of time in my skincare regime.

I really enjoy using eye cream and I want to look as bright as possible; plus with the weather turning sunnier it is important to protect the skin around the eyes are much as possible as it is so delicate. I will be doing a full review of this product soon, but I must say this one from Una Brennan I am using every morning and night and has lasted so well.

The serum is a new one to my collection (see my review here), and I really enjoy using it. It is light, smells good and helps to hydrate my skin in just one pump.

So those are three skin saviours that I will be taking with me on my upcoming trip and using throughout. If you have any other recommendations for in flight/travel products in general then I would love to hear so get commenting below!
