Last week I headed to London to attend the Next Summer Press Day (more to come on that soon!) and obviously after spending a few hours perusing the gorgeous new summer pieces I was definitely in the mood to shop shall we say.
Bye bye bank balance, hello pretty new things!
There was a justified reason for this shop, as a few of the bits I needed were only available in London so I just had to buy them then and there…
First stop was Pull and Bear; I really wish they would open up more of these across the UK as I love the casual, everyday items they sell. They are on trend but without going overboard; I can pick up bits here which will last season through season. I went for a pair of white trainers (my excuse for these is that I need them for my upcoming trip to America…); white goes with everything and I liked that these weren’t fabric so I can wipe off any stains easily. A pair of white trainers is perfect for any wardrobe; I will be wearing with jeans, shorts and tailored trousers. I also picked up another slogan jumper (see my latest post here) as I find they are perfect for when I don’t know what to wear! I also love teaming them up with formal trousers.
Next stop was Selfridges and in particular the NYX counter. I have heard the many many amazing reviews of their Soft Matte Lip Cream and considering I blooming love a matte lip cream I had to get my hands on one, or three…. I went for the shades Milan, Prague and Amsterdam, and not just because I happen to have visited all three places! I love a dark red and a berry lip so picked a couple along with a softer pink as I desperately need something like this in my collection. It was a little overwhelming at the counter I will admit; so many products and so many shades it was really difficult to choose. The same went for the HD Concealer which I also picked up in the shade 02 Fair. I am looking forward to trying these and really hoping they don’t disappoint!! Look out for reviews soon!
Lastly it was Primark (I could hardly leave it out could I?!) for a few staples for my wardrobe. I restrained myself rather well here and only came out with two tops and a dress, and when you consider the pile I took into the fitting rooms I give myself a well-deserved pat on the back! Those that know me well will know my love of shirts so it’s no surprise that I came out with another; a gorgeous light wash denim, perfect for the warmer months. I also found this gorgeous striped dress in the sale at a mere £5!! And considering I am drawn to anything with nautical stripes it was a no brainer, and it will look rather cute with my new trainers; see justification for it all!
