Last week I headed to London yet again, this time to spend the day with Next and fellow NBN bloggers! We headed to the Soho Hotel for a day of networking, awards, talks and food; this was hands down one of the best events I have been to.
The location was great; I even bumped into Louis Walsh with fellow blogger Charlie – random and surreal are the only two words to describe those 5 minutes!!
We had the opportunity to network, take advantage of the food and get some much needed blog photos; as well as having a go on the treat vending machine which very kindly gifted me with a gorgeous necklace (yes it should be going to one of my friends for Christmas but it has accidently made its way into my wardrobe…).
Next up it was the talks with a bit of a Q and A part too which was really useful as with anything like that, most of us are thinking the exact same things to ask! The panel line up was good as there was a nice range, and it was nice to see Jen who is a fellow Midlander there too, not just those that are London based.
Panel Line Up:
Sammie from Beauty Crush
Danielle from Idle Lane
Jen Stanbrook from Lovechicliving
Rosie Fortescue from At Fashion Forte
All gave great advice speaking about everything from photography, working with PRs to using Pinterest and it definitely gave me much food for thought and a motivation boost to crack on with things blog wise! A couple of things I took away with me was the importance of using a range of social media tools, in particular Pinterest as I don’t use this anywhere near enough, and tips on how to work with PRs and approach brands.
Lunch was definitely worth the wait and a nice opportunity to meet more people throughout the day; it was a good size group where I felt I could speak and meet quite a few bloggers in one go.
In the afternoon it was the awards; it was great to see so many different categories and areas being recognised so well done to all of the winners!
The best part for me was meeting other bloggers; some events I find can be quite tricky to meet new people as many are already in groups, whereas with the NBN event I found that everyone was really friendly and happy to meet more people regardless if they came on their own or in a group.
Thanks to Next for putting on such a great event; it was really well done, a very enjoyable and stress free day! I look forward to the next one!
