OOTD: The Denim Skirt

Yes your eyes don’t deceive you; I really am wearing a skirt! For those that know me, you will know I am really not one for skirts. Don’t get me wrong, I think they can look great on other people but I find most skirts too girly. I prefer a more masculine look and always feel comfier in shorts or trousers as this reduces my fear of accidently flashing anyone in sight when sitting down or if battling with the wind.

But it was payday and I had it in my head that I needed a skirt like this; you know when you’ve got an idea in your head and you just can’t stop until you’ve bought it…

I picked this one because I wanted one that was a midi length to avoid the above but also so I had something summery to put on even when I haven’t had a chance to tan (see photos below for proof…).

It has the nod to the 70s trend without being OTT and I have to admit, for a skirt, I am loving this! I love that it has buttons all the way down and the shade of denim is definitely my style. I am a pear shape so pencil skirts don’t work great for me but this material is stretchy and I found being able to undo the buttons at the bottom helped balance it out. At £22.99 I can’t complain and definitely see myself getting wear out of this; it is a nice alternative to jumpsuits, trousers or shorts.
